Remembrance Shadowbox

I have been putting off completing a shadowbox in rememberance of, first my Grandpa Frost whom passed away January 29th 2007, and because I took so long to finish (Yes I have had this box half completed since 2007) now my Grandma Frost whom passed away March 10th 2012.

It is a place to store their memorial cards, Beautiful pictures I found while going through their belongings and The little piece I have of them (little urns). I know that they are no longer here and that their souls have moved on but it makes me happy to have them near.

It had to be perfect, I needed that one thing....on and on. You know what, I think it is perfect and I'm so very glad that it is no longer laying in my craft room collecting dust. I hope you like it as well.

Wow!!! It's been awhile

I'm sad to say I've been away from crafting for almost 2 years now :( A couple things here and there but no real paper cuts, elbows deep in photos scraping. I was Blesses to be able and raise my two boys for 13 years as a stay-at-home Mom and after the little one, now turning 9 in a couple of days, went off to 1st grade I've been out in the working world and have neglected my artistic side.
Now that's not to say my picture taking, memory making was put on hold. It is to say that now my once slightly manageable pile has become a mountain to be created now. But I did have a Great day today dusting some of my crafty cobwebs off getting a little crafty, which I will post the pic's tomorrow.  And I'm hoping to keep up once again on things to be made, things to be cherished, things to enjoy :)
So for now Goodnight and I hope you will be around soon to see what I've been up to!

Rogue 3D

I have been wanting to play around with creating 3D stamped images. They're cute and versatile because it's up to you on what you'd like to see popping forth.

Here are my creations using the sitting bear from Getting Grizzly and the Flower from Just Sayin'. I did also stamp out the cat from Just Sayin' as well but ran out of time (Saving him for a rainy day)

Just stamp out a few of the images and maybe and one more than you think you're going to use just in case.

First figure out what you want to pop up and how many layers you need. If I were to do these over I would color everything instead of just whats going to be showing.

Here are the finished pieces!!!

A little side angle :)

DVD Storage

I, like many of you, am running out of room.
So I have 2 choices...1: stop buying or 2: figure out successful storage.
I chose the latter.

DVD cases for unmounted stamp storage leaves you with an open slate for decorating and takes up alot less space.

I have cut a piece of designer paper (NOTE: cardstock is too thick) and cut it down to 10 3/4 x 7 1/8.  Open your DVD case and measure to get the best dimensions.
I then stamped my image onto a piece of white paper and adhered it to the front.

Sorry for the glare in the photos :)

I finished by writing the company, name of set and number in the set (Behind the Scenes are big so I made 4 cases, labeling 1 of 4 and so on) on the front and the same information down the spine.

Dwell in the Possibility

RRD's new This N That is full of Fabulous images and Sentiments and as you can tell I couldn't wait to use them all :)

Stamped on a Tile, I used 3 shades of blue inks, the Sheet music and Bubblewrap background stamps from Behind the Scenes stamp plate and from This N That stamp plate-Midge, Birds, Clock and Sentiment.  I did stamp Midge and the Sentiment in black ink to stand out.

I had a Great time layering and am So happy with the outcome.

I have been the Crazy Bird lady this year with my camera by my couch trying to caught a great picture of the Beautiful birds that have been flitting about outside.  I have not had any time to print out the pictures but here is a layout I have whipped up (1: 4x6 and 3: 2.5x2.5).

Profile This

As I was going through my paper scraps I came upon a great piece of cardstock from DCWV's Mainstreet stack.  The paper features profiles created with flocking.  And I have the prefect stamp to compliment, who better than the Flapper Midge from the NEW Rouge Redhead Designs This N That stamp plate.
