Colorful Clay

So I'm onto my 2nd and final post for the day :)

I made them last night thinking that I'd be free to spend the day with the kids,

So I'm super tired, late night :) But we will be enjoying the rest of the day together

getting to go out later with Daddy to take pic's of the beautiful trees blooming in the park.

Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie, Bravo Burgundy, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Vanilla Cardstock

I started by inking the edges of the Pumpkin Pie paper with Versa mark and then clear embossing them, I thought it added a little texture and since my oldest was getting crafty I thought it went with the pic's. I Tore the edges of the Pool Party and then tore into some areas and stuck it into place. Then I stamped all over the Calypso Coral and inked the edges. The fun part came when I punched the holes into the Bravo Burgundy and laced the ribbon ending in bows. I popped up the bottom of the Bravo burgundy stripes and adhered the tops directly to the page then placed the Calypso Coral over the top. I stamped the flower images onto Vanilla with Bravo Burgundy and colored them in with a blender pen and Calypso Coral ink sticking them where you see. I made the title using the two letter sets and the flower with the stem image to anchor it and popped it up. Finally I wrote the directions to make the clay all around the boarder of the Calypso Coral and the Ingredients as the journaling on the side.

Nicean barks of yore

I'm going to start by sharing an Edgar Allen Poe poem to Helen

(which is the inspiration for the challenge over at Quoth the Raven, Nevermore.)

Helen, thy beauty is to me

the weary, wayworn wanderer bore

Brotherly Love

I found the striped flower and knew I had to use it on an Altered Alice project :) Love how it looks like one of the dresses from the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland.

I stamped and distressed, popped up and layered...there's alot going on :)

The flower in the upper righthand corner I made by cutting, and fanning out the crochet trim adding a brad to the middle to keep it in place.

Beauty is in the EYE of the beholder

Over at Haunted Design House this week the challenge is

EYE can see you

This is my attempt at an eye :)

And I wanted to get the beautiful cherry trees that are in bloom in my yard.

I started by cutting out a circle card, the white for the eye and the blue as a crescent moon.

I Stamped the flowers in blues for the iris then covered in versa mark and clear embossing powder for the sheen of the eye. Then I popped some flowers around the skull, used as the pupil and popped everything up and placed it in the center.

I glued the spiders, used as the eye lashes along the eye lid and popped up the middle and adhered the sides. Inking the lid up a bit for shadow.

Finally adding the tear shaped bling in the corner.

I colored in the image using a blender pen and ink pads. Then stamped image in basic gray on basic gray, pale plum on pale plum inking up the edges and inking edges with sage shadow on sage shadow.

Finishing the card by popping the metal embellishment up and added the pearls.

Bonus Pirates :)

I had so much fun with the card I decided to complete a LO of my oldest son's Pirate Room.

Macabre Monday HDH 129 Pirates Booty

I decided to make a stair step card after viewing

craftsandcravings and makinkstudio .

After a few tries, my folds finally worked and I love the finished project.

Supplies:

Stampin' Up Beware Pirates and The Open Sea stamp sets

Stampin' Up Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Bravo Burgundy cardstock

Stampin' Up Real Red and Basic Brown ink refill

White, Black and Clear embossing powders

Red hemp, Black eyelets, Pop dots and adhesive

Card 6x12

I cut the card 1 1/2 in. from the top 3 inches in down to 1 1/2 in. from bottom.

Folding left side first down 1 1/2 in. then up 2in. then down 2in. then up again with remainder.

Using my bone folder to make the folds very crisp.

Then I embossed everything, I went embossing crazy :)

The ships page I had fun again using my ink refill and slashing the red all over then stamped image in black and finished by clear embossing 6 times, cracking then dripping brown ink refill and rubbing in the cracks and back off the image.

Finaly added the anchor with hemp and eyelets.
